In a sudden announcement from the Tajiki private airline Somon Air, the airline has said that they will launch flights to Tehran “within a few days”, Farsnews reports.
While the launch date nor the flight details are stated, the airline intends to fly Dushanbe – Tehran route twice a week operated by a B737 aircraft.
The same route is operated once weekly by Tajik Air, the national carrier of Tajikistan. In 2015, Iran and Tajikistan agreed to increase the number of weekly allowed flights to 10. These flights can only be operated by the Tajik Air, Somon Air, Iran Aseman Airlines and Mahan Air.
Somon Air has since its start in 2008, commenced operations to various destinations in Germany, UAE, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
