As of next week Air France resumes a thrice weekly service from Paris to Tehran. The route which originally dates back to 1946 was suspended in 2008 due to Iran struggling economy. The flights were orignially planned to be operated by A320 but was recently changed to a mixed operation of the long-haul aircraft A330 and A340.
KLM has announced readiness to start flights since months ago but no KLM official has ever confirmed the plans. Neither now. According to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Developments in Iran, KLM has signed a deal to operate three weekly flights from Amsterdam to Tehran with start on 1st May 2016.
The KLM flight will arrive in Tehran at 13:00 local time, and leave for Amsterdam at 15:00. Detailed information such as aircraft type is not disclosed yet.
As Air France and KLM are in alliance, KLM will codeshare on Air France’s flights and vice versa.
