During Nouroz, Iran’s busiest travel period, Isfahan’s Internation Airport has so far carried out 43 flights to international destinations and 77 flights to domestic.
Moreover, the airport has announced that it will see more international flights. From today, 27th March 2016, Onur Air started a 3 weekly service from Istanbul to Isfahan. The route is operational on Saturdays, Wednesdays and Fridays by Onur Air’s A320 or A321 with capacity for around 180 passengers. The flight departs on 07:30 from Isfahan and lands in Istanbul at around 09:50 local time.
In addition to this new 3 weekly service, Turkish Airlines has daily flights from Isfahan to Istanbul.
Also, as of 5th April 2016 Isfahan will take care of Iran’s sole flight route to Europe, excluding Tehran flights, when Austrian Airlines launches the 4 weekly service from Vienna to Isfahan. Last time an Iranian city besides Tehran held a route to Europe, was Mashhad to Hamburg however the route was secretly cancelled in November 2015.
Isfahan Airport handles 75 daily flights during normal periods to various domestic, and international destinations such as Dubai, Isfahan, Sharjah and Baghdad.
