The Airport Director for the airports in in the Khuzestan Province, where Ahvaz is situated, announced increased frequency on the Mashhad – Ahvaz route. The new service is timely to the Iranian New Year, Nouroz. Tinn reports that this new service will be operated once weekly on Fridays by the Iran Air subsidary, Iran Air Tours.
The Airport Director, Mohammad Reza Rezaei decleared that this new service is operated by Iran Air Tour’s MD82, arriving from Mashhad at 23:00 and returning back from Ahvaz at 23:59 the same day. Iran Air Tours already operates Mashhad – Ahvaz 4 times a week, with this additional Nouroz making it 5 weekly.
Ahvaz Airport handles 20 weekly flights in total from Mashhad, operated by the airlines Iran Air Tours, Aseman, Mahan Air and Taban Air.
