Iran and Oman to Expand Cooperation, New Joint Airline

Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development has expressed its readiness to cooperate with Oman in the field of aviation. This comes after a delegation from Oman visited Iran on Saturday to discuss new types of cooperation now when Iran is able to trade in the international market.

Abbas Akhoundi, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development says that Iran is ready to establish an aircraft leasing companies, a joint private airline and cooperation in the Tehran Imam Khomeini Aiport expansion project with Oman. Iran is already in the process of establishing an aircraft leasing company with one or more international leasing companies. The company will have 150 aircraft and the headquarter could be in Iran or abroad.

Iran is said to offer Oman a location at Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport Town’s for their logistic activities, meant for both passengers and cargo. Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman has plans to carry out from today’s 11 weekly flights to 50 in the future. The airline is also interested in deeper cooperation with Iran Air, and making Iran to its new focus market.
