Yesterday on 14 February 2016 the very first ATA Airlines B737-300 flew from Tehran to Mashhad. The airline, with its base in Tabriz has a fleet consisting of A320s, B737 and MD-82s. Like many other airlines in Iran they are in efforts to withdraw the latter aircraft type.
The CEO of ATA Airlines, Younes Daghegh told Tinn that his airline is interested in 30 more aircraft of the B737 type. He announced that three aircraft of this type already has been bought.
ATA Airlines has expanded in the previous years. A new maintenance area at Tabriz Airport, a 3000 m² catering centre in Tehran, two hangars at Tehran Mehrabad Airport and a new 10 floor office in Tehran are some mentioned expansions.
