British Airways and Four Other Airlines Resume Tehran Flights

British Airways is coming back to Tehran and Iran in early-March 2016, after five years of absence. The London Heathrow – Tehran Imam Khomeini route which already is served by Iran Air three times a week, will get a boost by the addition of British Airways’ four weekly from the early days of March 2016.

This was announced in a meeting between the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and British Airways and Air France-KLM. All of the airlines agreed to resume their flights to Tehran within two to three months. Air France has already announced their comeback on 10 April 2016, with three weekly flights. KLM has not announced any date or frequency, but they will resume within two to three months.

The ICAO Director, Mohammad Khodakarami, also announced three airlines’ readiness to start operations to Iran. These airlines are Malaysia’s Air Asia and two unknown Japanese and Spanish airlines.
