A number of routes are being launched in the coming months.
The airport director for Rasht Airport, Fatah Rezavani, announced the increase of flights to several domestic destinations. In the coming Persian year (beginning late-March 2016), flights to Tehran, Shiraz, Asalouyeh, Kish, Bandar Abbas, Mashhad and Ahwaz will increase to a total of 80 weekly. Zagros Airlines will also as of 5 February 2016 start two weekly flights from Rasht to Mashhad, making it total 22 weekly flights on the specific route.
Also Yazd Airport announced one new route. In February 2016 the airport will see two weekly flights to the island of Qeshm, a service operated by Naft Airlines.
Mahan Air furthermore resumed flights from Tehran to Birjand after two months of no flights.
Iran Aseman Airlines, likewise the other airlines, have ambitions to expand. On 10 January 2016 the airline started a one weekly service from Tehran to Gorgan.
