LOT Polish Airlines, the national carrier of Poland, has commenced the process to launch a Warsaw – Tehran route, the airline confirmed to Aviation Iran.
Currently, the airline is analysing closely “monitoring the market” for a Tehran launch. LOT Polish Airlines has already taken the first steps towards a launch as it applied and was granted the rights to operate regular passenger, mail and cargo flights between Warsaw and Tehran on 9 November 2015, by the Polish Government.
Iran and Poland have a long tradition of diplomatic relations dating back to many centuries ago. In September 2015 a Polish delegation of 60 people visited Iran to explore the post-sanctions market.
