The national carrier of Italy, Alitalia, is increasing the flight frequency between the two country’s capitals. As of 27 March 2016 Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport will see daily flights from Rome, instead of today’s 4 weekly. The operating aircraft, A320, remains unchanged. Flights between Iran and Italy has rapidly increased the last year. After the launch of Mahan Air’s Tehran – Milan route in June 2015 the route has gained one additional weekly flight and Iran Air followed up by increasing its flight on the same route from one to two weekly. Now it’s Alitalias turn.
Aviation Iran estimates that the weekly flights between Iran and Italy (Rome and Milan) will hit 12 when the Summer schedule 2016 enters into force.
