Kermanshah Announces New Sharjah Route

Kermanshah Airport’s general manager Mojtaba Bayati has announced a new route, operating exclusively as a Nouroz seasonal route with start in late March.

As of 19 March 2017, Air Arabia will commence flights from Sharjah to Kermanshah, in response to the demand expressed by the inhabitants of the Kermanshah region. The route will reportedly solely be active during the few days of the Nouroz holidays. No schedule details have been announced.

Air Arabia offers flights to Lar, Shiraz, Tehran, Mashhad, Abadan and Isfahan. The airline will, as a few other airlines, ramp up the capacity on flights to Iran during the Nouroz holidays. In January 2017, Ahvaz Airport reported on Air Arabia’s interest in launching flights to Ahvaz.

Kermanshah Shahid Ashrafi Esfahani Airport handles some 120 weekly flights. During the first 8 months of the Iranian year 1395 (March – November 2016), Kermanshah noted a 42% increase in flights.
