During the first 8 months of the Iranian year 1395, Kermanshah handled 3707 international and domestic flights. The number indicates a 42% increase in flights when compared to the equivalent time period of last year.

The newly appointed airport director, Mojtaba Biati, declared in a statement: “We have witnessed 366,027 passengers flying to and from international and domestic points via¬†Kermanshah Airport. The number notes a 39% growth in passenger traffic compared to the same time period of last year.”

Furthermore, the airport saw the air freight increasing by 28% as the airport handled 2465 tonnes during the aforementioned period.

A few weeks ago, the government granted Kermanshah Airport IRR 60 billion for its development plans.

Flights to Tehran, Mashhad, Kish Island, Asalouyeh, Qeshm Island and Shiraz are carried out on a daily basis by Iran Air, Iran Aseman Airlines, Iran Air Tours, Qeshm Air, Caspian Airlines, Meraj Airlines, Zagros Airlines and Kish Air. Until October 2016, Turkish Airlines operated two weekly flights from Istanbul to Kermanshah but the service was discontinued due to the airline’s current economic conditions.
